Birthday Celebration in PCF

14 March 2011 is the start of school holiday, hence, Pearlyn had an early celebration in PCF with her classmates.  The teachers are nice enough to ask Amberlyn to join in, that's what I like about the teachers there ^_^ .  Pearlyn wore her princess barbie dress to school and lots of her girlfriends told her that she's very pretty today. She's so excited and happy, guess she's someone who love to be in the limelight.

Got a princess cake for her, the kids love the cake and most had 2nd round, if not third round...hahaha....next time I should get 3 kg instead ....but no more next year for Pearlyn, she'll be in P1 then.

The class is pretty big, 29 of them and mostly girls. The teachers suggested taking separate pictures with the girls and boys so everyone can be seen clearly.

A couple of Pearlyn's best friend gets to put up the candle on her cake. Look at the candles, it's all over the cake!

After the children finished their cakes, they all said thank you to Pearlyn and I for the cake and the goody bags. I believe they were influenced and thought by the teachers to give praise and to say thank you . Thumbs up, Teacher Eva and 李老师!

Dining tables and chairs made from paper

GemsPapa babysitted the Gems yesterday as BL Ah Ma went to see the doc. They went to the office to fetch me from work and we went to Suntec City to buy our grocery and have dinner. The Gems went to sleep shortly after we reached home as it had passed they usually sleeping time.

On Saturday morning, I got a pleasant surprise. Pearlyn proudly showed me her set of dining table and chairs she made yesterday out of just paper and adhesive tapes. I am really impressed by her art work!

GemPapa said the Gems are always very independent at home with him and will play or work by themselves, very different when I am around. Hmm....in that case, maybe GemsPapa should babysit them more often while GemsMummy go enjoy herself! :)

Dry nights goals

When someone spoke to me about her intention to bring her girl to see doc regarding
bedwetting issues, it strike me hard, did I not put in effort, or rather did I stopped putting effort in Pearl's dry night training which we started sometime ago?

I started it when she was five, encouraging first, then pressurizing when she didn't progress. A reward system was also put in place. She was getting better but in a very slow pace.

However, things changed when Amber, who's 2 years her junior started to announce that she does not want to wear diapers at night anymore and she did it with only about 5% of accidents. Pearl, who's very 好胜,begins to feel very stressed up as she thinks that being the elder one, she should be able to be diaper-free earlier than her little sister. Every morning she wakes up, she'll first check her own diaper then ask me whether her little sister wet her bed the night before. She even suggested that I wake her up twice instead of once at night. To avoid causing emotional turmoil to her, I explained to her that to be able to be diaper-free at night really depends on individual. Some kids can achieve that earlier then the rest because their body are ready earlier, and that is something we cannot control. Most importantly, that its nothing wrong to be a bit later than the others as long as we had tried. Now, we can only keep trying.

I have came up with the following plans and hope we can achieve 100% dry nights soon

1. Night milk to be taken at late afternoon instead so bladder have lesser liquid
2. Empty bladder right before going to bed
3. To wake up for toilet again about 2 hrs after bedtime
4. Back on reward system
5. Lots and lots of encouragement.

If we don't succeed after 3 months, I'll get the urine detector. If still cannot, she'll have to see doc then. Good luck to us!
